WHAT:
Old York Cellars Winery in Ringoes, NJ has agreed to feature the GSWS artists as the ONLY art group to be present painting outside during their Spring Festival this May. During this festival there are vendors, food trucks, tours of the winery and activities for the kids. Over 1000 people frequent this event. Family members/friends of GSWS participants are expected to pay the Winery’s Spring Festival entrance fee. (discount if register online ahead of time at www.oldyorkcellars.com).
OVERVIEW FOR ARTISTS:
We can paint outside both days beginning at 10am. We will also hang up our completed works on a clothesline for sale to the visitors at the end of each painting day (3pm). Work done in any watermedia is acceptable. The sale will run for the last 2 hours of each festival day (3 - 5pm). Our completed works will be hung on a clothesline for sale. You may also bring with you up to 5 original works or prints in mats to sell in a portfolio rack at our GSWS tent.
DON’T WANT TO PAINT BUT STILL WANT TO PARTICIPATE?
For those of you who want to participate but don’t want to paint, we would love to have you help man the GSWS tent and handle promotions and portfolio sales. You may also sell up to 5 original works or prints in portfolio. Looking for 2 - 3 people per day.
COST:
$25 GSWS Refundable deposit for GSWS participants. The deposit is used to show commitment to participating in the event. Artists that are present during event will have $20 of their deposit refunded. The $5 not refunded goes to GSWS administrative costs. Artists that fail to show will not be refunded their GSWS deposit. The deposit will be managed on the GSWS website at www.gswcs.com

DETAILS ABOUT PAINTING PROCEDURES
We are looking for about 20 artists to paint outside each day. You can sign up for one or both days for same $25 GSWS deposit fee.
Check-in for the day’s event begins at 9:30am at the winery. We will have a tent set up with a GSWS banner to make it easy to find us.
Please arrive around 9:30 so that you can unload your supplies/portfolio along with inventory sheet and then be directed to where to park your car for the day. We should be set up before festival opens to public at 12pm.
At our check-in table at the tent we will show you the areas where we are allowed to paint. NOTE there are a few blue beehive boxes along the perimeter of the property in a few areas (so some of you may not want to sit near those).
You will drop off your 5 matted works along with their inventory price list at the tent.
You will also provide us with your cell phone number for the day so we can call you if needed.
Upon completion of check-in we will give you a balloon to tie to the back of your chair so that festival goers can see where the various artists are set up. Our painting hours are from 10 - 3 each day. At 3pm we will hang our works on the clothesline to sell to the public.
Food -- there will be food vendors there if you like or you may bring your own lunch

Bring a container with a lid to transport your painting water.
We will have jugs of water at the tent for you to fill up with if you like.
Bring a little trash bin -- we want to leave the property as we found it
Bug spray / suntan lotion

The Garden State Watercolor Society (GSWS) was founded in 1969 by Dagmar Tribble, a noted watercolorist. It is a non-profit organization with the goal of encouraging painting in the water media, and providing educational and exhibition opportunities for artists and residents of New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
